Since purchasing Mt Ive Station in 2002 the Newton family, staff and friends have strived to preserve and share their special place in an amazing outback landscape.
Opening up more station tracks to unique scenery and historical areas, renovating or just enjoying a drink from the Spinifex Bar with others, gives us much pleasure.
The station is stocked with merino sheep and is worked in conjunction with another property at Mt Wedge approx 220ks south.
Where we are
247km west of Port Augusta.
Nestling into the rich red sand and rocks of the ancient, volcanic Gawler Ranges is Lake Gairdner with it's brilliant white salt crystal bed. It's an awesome sight to behold with sunsets being an unforgettable experience. The beauty and serenity of this amazing place has been described as the 'jewel in the crown' of locations for photography and filming. Lake Gairdner is the home of Dry Lake Racing in Australia with many world speed records being made here. Few have stumbled 'off the beaten track' to discover the secret 'WOW" factor we have in our backyard.
